Alexander Bruehl is an experienced venture capitalist, angel investor, mentor and entrepreneur. From 2008 to 2013, he was a General Partner of Atlantic Capital Partners, and for the ten years beforehand was a Senior Partner of Atlas Venture in Boston and in Munich. During these assignments, Alexander was active in both early stage and growth stage investments with primary focus on IT, Media and Telecommunications. He was co-founder and managing director of Ponsit based in Munich, providing off-balance sheet financing to European subsidiaries. Between 1996 and 1998, Alexander was EVP of Marketing for R&O Software, an enterprise software company providing data warehousing. He also launched and managed SAG Gmbh, a solution analysis group for computer-aided design applications.
Prior to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Alexander was the director of IT Solutions at Digital Equipment Corporation and, between 1986 and 1989, was a hardware/ software developer at Signum. As an angel investor and mentor, Alexander actively supports CEOs of Software and Digital media startups, where he helps with go- to-market strategies, differentiation, international expansion, and positioning for M&A. He possesses deep domain experience in Enterprise Software, Cloud-based Consumer and Enterprise Services, and Mobile Applications. He has a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Technische Univeristät München.
